The course explores topics such as

Unit 1: Sustainable Ecosystems
Students learn foundational ecological principles and explore the importance of biodiversity.
Lessons include:

  • Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services

  • Human Impact and Conservation

Unit 2: Human Health and the Environment
This unit focuses on how environmental factors affect human health.

Unit 3: Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry

  • 70% of the final grade is based on in-course activities, including:

    • Assignments and lab investigations

  • 30% of the final grade is based on final evaluations:

    • 10% Culminating project on an environmental issue

    • 20% Final written exam assessing scientific understanding and sustainability applications
