Unit 1: Foundations and Family
Students build core language skills and learn to describe themselves and others.
Lessons include:

  • Getting to Know Someone Else

Unit 2: School, Hobbies, and Daily Life
This unit focuses on vocabulary and grammar related to personal interests and routines.

  • 70% of the final grade is based on coursework, and assignments.
    • Grammar and vocabulary development tasks

    • Oral presentations and dialogues

    • Reading comprehension of short texts

    • Writing assignments (descriptions, letters, reports)

    •  Cultural projects and reflections

  • 30% of the final grade is based on final  evaluations:

    • 15% Culminating cultural or communication project

    • 15% Final exam assessing listening, reading, writing, and speaking

All assessments follow Ontario curriculum standards and are designed to build fluency, intercultural competence, and readiness for further language studies or global engagement.
