Grade 9 Exploring Technologies (TIJ10) is an introductory course that allows students to explore the world of technology through hands-on projects and problem-solving tasks. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of design, production, and digital tools as they work on projects that integrate science, engineering, and creativity.

Student learning in MTH1W is assessed through a balance of performance tasks, written work, and problem-solving activities:
  • 70% of the final grade is based on unit evaluations, quizzes, and assignments
  • 30% of the final grade is based on final evaluations:

    • 10% Culminating project applying skills from all strands

    • 20% Final written exam covering core concepts

All assessments are in accordance with Ontario curriculum expectations and emphasize real-world problem-solving, clarity of communication, and confidence in mathematical thinking.
