Unit 1: Navigating Your Future
Students explore self-awareness, wellness, and long-term goal setting.
Lessons include:

  • Managing Stress and Building Balance

  •  Decision-Making Strategies

  • Crafting Effective Goals for the Future

Unit 2: Preparing for the World of Work
This unit focuses on developing workplace readiness and understanding the job market.
Lessons include:
  • The Ever-Changing World of Work

  • Creating Your Personal Brand

  • Digital Footprints and Online Presence

  • Exploring Postsecondary Pathways

Unit 3: Charting Your Course
Students dive into real-world financial planning and build a personal career portfolio.
Lessons include:

  • Building a Career Success Portfolio

  • Creating a First-Year Action Plan

Unit 4: Summative Assessment
Students apply their learning in a final culminating project.
  • Final Project: Summative Assessment worth 30% of the course grade
  • Time Requirement: Approximately 3 hours
GLC20 assessments emphasize practical planning, research, and reflective thinking:
  • 70% of the final grade is based on coursework, and assignments.
  • 30% of the final grade is based on final evaluations:
      130% Final summative project (career action plan and presentation)
All assessments align with the Ontario curriculum and are designed to help students prepare confidently for life beyond high school.
