BBB4M examines the dynamics of international trade and the challenges and opportunities faced by Canadian businesses in the global marketplace

The course develops students’ global awareness, business acumen, and critical thinking—ideal preparation for careers or postsecondary studies in business, economics, or international relations.

Unit 1: Business, Trade & the Economy

Students are introduced to the foundations of international business and trade.
Lessons include:
  • Introduction to Global Trade

  • What is Trade?

  • Globalization and Canada’s Trade Partner

  •  Canada’s Imports and Exports

  •  Barriers to Trade

  •  Key Concepts and Business Terminology

Unit 2: Global Markets and the Trade Environment

This unit explores global business environments and economic systems.
Lessons include:
  • International Trade Agreements and Organizations

  • Money and Foreign Exchange

  •  The Global Marketplace

  •  Global Economic Trends

  •  Canada’s Competitive Advantage

  •  Attracting Foreign Investment

  •  SWOT Analysis

Unit 3: Culture, Politics, and Ethics in Business

Students examine the influence of culture, politics, and ethical standards on international business practices.
Lessons include:

  •  Political and Economic Systems

  •  Global Development and Ethics

  •  Corporate Social Responsibility

Unit 4: Marketing and Logistics

This unit focuses on strategies for international marketing and global supply chain management.

  •  Marketing Mix (Product, Place, Price, Promotion)

  •  Product Life Cycle

  •  Logistics of International Trade

  •  Supply Chain Management (Part 1 & 2)

Unit 5: Final Evaluation

Students apply their learning to a culminating project and final assessment.
Lessons include:
  • Final Culminating Project

  • Final Summative Assignment

  • 70% of the final grade is based on coursework, including:
    • Case studies and international market analysis

    • Business reports and trade evaluations

    • Cultural research presentations
    • Quizzes, tests, and unit assignments
  • 30% of the final grade is based on final evaluations:
    • 20% Culminating business project

    • 10% Final summative written component

All assessments follow Ontario curriculum standards and help students build global business awareness, cross-cultural understanding, and real-world economic insight
